I know I have at least one blog stalker… Hi Emily!

Emily and James were married at Steamboat Landing in Canandaigua this past September. Emily is a PhotoKisses VIP -  I photographed her lovely face 4 different times last year, including her mom’s wedding earlier in the season!

Thanks to my lovely 2nd shooter Amanda for gathering up the guys for some fun pre-ceremony photos while I was with the bridal party.

Steamboat Landing: the wedding ceremony

With such a fun loving bridal party, it was easy to take snazzy, fun photos of the group.

We had a few minutes to spare before reception introductions, so we snuck off into the grove of trees nearby and captured romantic newlywed photos.

A few details (purple is such a great wedding color – rich and warm and goes with everything!) And YAY! Engagement photos taken by moi on their wine bottle wedding favors.

Random picture of the day: Amanda snapped a photo of me sporting a wedding program on my 70-200 lens, supported by a hair tie she lent me. Us professionals, we have great tools to block out the setting sun at a wedding ceremony!

A HUGE thanks goes to the newlywed Mr. and Mrs. Giunta for having us at their wedding, I truly felt like I was a part of their family and I hope they will enjoy their photos for years to come.  And as always, I will finish with a ring shot (or three).

Heather and Michael got married on Labor Day weekend. It threatened to rain most of the day, but that did not stop them from giving each other sweet loving looks all through the ceremony at St. Mary’s in Canandaigua and having fun at their reception at the Country Club of Mendon.

As usual, I photographed the girls getting ready at the house.

We were close to Canandaigua lake so we decided to stop and get a few bridal party pictures. It got really windy and cold though, so we had to move on to the country club before the sky opened up.

Every year we try to make at least one trip out to Letchworth, and this year I was lucky enough to photograph a wedding there, at the Glen Iris Inn. Unfortunately the day turned out to be pretty terrible weather-wise, but Laura and Cooper weathered the storm (teehee) and had a great celebration regardless.

Thanks to my assistant Michael and a big umb-uh-rella, I was able to take family formals outside at the front entrance to the Glen Iris Inn.

Every year on July 3rd the folks living around Conesus lake get their bonfires going and yellow and red road flares lit for a very special event. The park fills with hundreds of people who grill and play sports late into the evening, and then at 10 pm the FIREWORKS start. Anyone who knows me, knows that I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE fireworks. I get giddy like a little school girl. And of course I Must. Take. Pictures! I have been going to the Ring of Fire for a few years now and I think I’ll keep going for a lot more!

This year my associate photographer Will got to come along. And I got to take pictures of his beautiful Mazda Speed 3 in motion. I wouldn’t suggest sticking your expensive camera out the window of a moving vehicle unless you’re completely sure you’ve secured it in your hand and around your neck!  =)

My awesome assistant Ben got this image of the cool breezy evening just as the clouds parted and rain decided to skip us this time.

Yay fireworks!

Happy July 4th everyone! Hope you have a nice day off, time to spend with your families and loved ones, and maybe even forget about wedding planning for just one day. And if you ever decide to have fireworks at your wedding – I’m there!

Wow, has it really been this long since I’ve posted a Time After Time session? Bad blogger! I know, I know, I teased and I said they would be up soon – but that was quite a few moons ago. Anyway, moving on. I present Cara and Nate’s Trash The Dress – or Time After Time session, as I call it.  This photoshoot took place in Martin, Kentucky in the heat of summer of 2008, the morning after their wedding.

Nate was a crazy theater major. This is exactly how I remember him from college.

There was nowhere to hide from the sun – so we embraced it.

I guess I shouldn’t have worn a skirt. It was pretty funny.

Love it! This shot was taken by my lovely assistant Samantha, and edited by me.

I just fell in love with the mountains and all the greenery.

Later, all Cara needed to do was wash the dress on a gentle cycle in the washer, and voila, clean as a whistle.

Oh, and did I tell you about the time when I was shooting in the lake? I was in rapid fire mode, focusing on the two lovebirds wading around in the water, when I slipped on treacherous rocks and dunked myself AND MY CAMERA in the water! Luckily, my instincts took over, and I managed to yank on the camera strap with one hand while hitting the rocks with my other, so only the grip of my precious 5D got dunked. I banged up my wrist pretty bad, but who cares about that? We took the grip off, dismantled all the batteries, put the CF card on the car hood, and in 10 minutes the sun had dried everything off. Eventually, I got bandaged up, we put the camera back together, and it was working! The second shutter on the grip obviously got water in it, because it kept firing and firingandfiringandfiring until I turned it off – but the main shutter and everything else worked just fine. No images were lost, either. Yay for happy endings!
