This is Jem, whom I photographed yesterday in my home studio in Orlando. She is wearing a tulle dress that I made by hand using the leftover white tulle I had from my wedding. I also styled the accessories and the hair. We had an amazing session within about 5 feet of space!

I’m going to play a game today. I’m posting three pictures of the striking Jem. The Facebook picture will be of the artsy kind. The Pinterest picture will have a model vibe. The one I post on my blog will, of course, be wedding/bride related. If you were allowed only one tiny peek, which one would you visit next?

‘Tis the year of destination weddings! Since moving to Orlando FL, I have had to broaden my area of coverage… slightly 🙂 A few months ago I traveled to upstate New York to celebrate with Jessica and Ray as they tied the knot. We had a spectacular day full of sunshine, great moods, and loads of laughter.

The girls got ready at the house while the guys met my second photographer Valerie at the church. It was a quiet and contemplative morning, the girls didn’t rush about yet everything was going smoothly. Jessica was a bit nervous, but it didn’t show. I had plenty of time to play with her details, and even got inspired to do something different for the shoe shot, since they were so lacey.

Wedding days like this are a photographer’s dream! Not having to rush through pictures and posing, having enough time to arrange the bridal party in various flattering poses, and then still having time for bride and groom portraits, it was truly a priceless treat for which I am so thankful. Even though it was a bright afternoon, it was overcast, and we got a TON of amazing images.

And a shameless plug for my friend Christine, who created the pretty tags for the wine bottles, which acted as seating cards. And did you SEE that groom’s cake?! Rochester is well known for the garbage plate, and this cake from Gourmet Goodies was truly a work of art, even the cheese looked realistic!wedding reception details wedding reception intro dance toasts

The next time I travel for a wedding, it will be to Alabama in September. In the mean time, I’ll stay here in sunny Orlando, reminiscing about the Istas celebration, and hoping that some day, one of my travel wedding couples will decide to honeymoon right here at Disney or Universal, and I’ll get to do their Trash The Dress/Day After session in my new home town 😛 Thank you Jessica and Ray for bringing me to Rochester for your wedding, it was a perfect day!

Weeeee! I’m so stoked! Recently I had one of my travel weddings that I photographed featured on A Practical Wedding! It is a blogsite that focuses on creating a culture that supports laid-back, feminist weddings. Michael and Mary’s perfectly chill wedding in their Seattle, Wa. home was a perfect fit.  Congratulations to the newlyweds on the feature!

I blogged the wedding with all my favorite images, HERE

The Wedding of MaryBeth and Danny Walker at Strong Mansion in Dickerson MD
I love traveling for weddings! This was my first destination wedding in Maryland. Bonus points, hubby and I got to visit our best man, his best friend, while we were there. Definitely did not enjoy the traffic, but had a great time spending it with people we hadn’t seen in way too long. The bride happens to be the sister of our neighbors from back when we lived in upstate New York, so we got to see them and how their little girls have grown. The wedding was a stylish and elegant affair, which Mark and I photographed pretty much from start to finish. We showed up at the hotel where the girls were getting ready just as they were putting the finishing touches on hair and makeup, and stayed until almost the end of the reception at Strong Mansion, catching up with friends and enjoying this awesome wedding. It was a day to remember. Perfect weather, great views, stunning bride and groom in a lovely location, friendships old and new – what more can a wedding photographer ask for?

Add to that perfect timing for a spectacular sunset, we couldn’t have gotten any more perfect shots! My favorite sequence of the night right here.strong_mansion_wedding_photographer 008 (Sheet 8)I loved the simple yet striking wedding reception decor in the tent. It complimented the venue without being a distraction. Thank you to the newly minted Walkers for choosing us to document your celebration, and thank you to Rick and Melissa for hooking us up with the lovely couple! The whole trip to Maryland was extremely enjoyable and my job was made easier thanks to my amazing husband Mark (pictured above with the happy newlyweds and yours truly!) Much love to all of you! MUAH!
