Where have I been?

The answer should be pretty obvious… I’ve been buried under the massive amounts of weddings I’ve shot so far. I am so blessed that in the last 4 months over 20 couples have gotten married and chosen me as their photographer. Which, while being absolutely awesome, also means that I am spending more and more time at my computer, editing! And with my excellent procrastination skillzzz… well, you know.

Speaking of procrastination, I am totally addicted to Facebook (find me or become a fan), Twitter (follow me), and AIM (chat with me - PhotoKisses). I’m always online!

New Structure

In the past year, PhotoKisses has grown beyond my wildest dreams! My photography skills have been greatly enhanced due to the amount of weddings I have been fortunate to shoot, my equipment is better than ever, and my style has evolved into something that my couples and I love very much.

Therefore, I feel that it is time to change the structure of my business. I will no longer offer a flat rate for my services - I can’t be limiting myself and my clients anymore. I am able to and WANT to offer more, more MORE! Engagement sessions, save the date magnets, guest books, more coverage, more travel, more fashion and fun, albums, prints, and then some :)

If you are a potential bride reading this, please note that I will be introducing my new pricing and packages on September 1st. So if you want to get the current rate, you have one week to contact me and set up a meeting. Oh, and while you’re at it, check out the new Rochester Wedding Magazine with a picture I took on the cover!

Going to Kentucky

This weekend I will be in Martin KY shooting my college friends’ wedding. I am really looking forward to it because I will get to see my friends from Berea College that I haven’t seen in over four years! If you email me and I don’t respond, it’s probably because I don’t have internet connection. If you call me and I don’t respond, I’m probably busy shooting the wedding or Trash The Dress. Yes, yes, Cara is going to trash her dress the very next morning. I’m stoked!

In the mean time, I am extremely busy trying to finish up the weddings from July. I realize I’m behind in blogging about them, so I’ll probably have to do a super-shortened version story of each… But that will be after my return.

Until then, enjoy this picture of my new house - before and after upgrades.

I can’t wait to show you my bridal consultation room! I have all these ideas in my head, and I’m looking forward to having the time to paint and decorate and furnish. :)

Engaged: Kate & Greg

Wow, it seems that I haven’t blogged in a while. I hope you haven’t forgotten me! I’ve been super busy with life :) I’ve been house hunting in order to find the perfect house which would accommodate my bridal consultation room, and I am happy to say I just found one! Yay! No more coffee shop meetings for me - my brides will be welcome in my home. I can’t wait to close on this house, get all moved in, and decorate the consultation room. It’s gonna ROCK!

In any case, on to my photographic adventures. Two weeks ago I photographed Greg and Kate’s engagement session in Fairport. They just moved to Corning NY but they came back for the shoot - just in time, too! Winter was JUST over, and flowers had finally started to bloom. We had the warmest day of the year (unlike Amber and Rob’s session) which helped create awesome pictures.

We started out in a cozy little coffee shop called Fairport Village Coffee & Wine Bar where I didn’t see any wine but the raspberry frapps were amazing.

Kate wore these amazing red shoes that I was completely jealous of! They cost her $4. What a steal!

After coffee and lunch, we started walking along the canal where we found some awesome picture opportunities.

We even walked over to where they used to live, and Greg showed me their driveway where one winter he wrote “will you marry me” in the snow - and the rest is history.

The yellow blossoms were like little bits of sunshine, which was very welcome after this long dreary winter.

The sign doesn’t say no kissing :)

We found a corvette in the parking lot. After making sure the owner didn’t mind (we yelled and no one claimed it LOL), we took a few quick pictures.

HAWT!!!

Coolest bridge ever.

And here’s me setting up for the shot above.

Greg and Kate, THANK YOU for waiting for spring, and for walking around the Fairport canal with me! It was so great to get to know you guys better. I can’t wait until October!!! We will rock the wedding!

LOLz

New York City

Hi there! Are you having a good Monday? I am doing well. I only have to wait one more month until I get to shoot the first wedding of this season! I’m so pumped!!!

The reason for this post is that I am planning a short trip to NYC. It will happen sometime in April. I have some business to take care of in the city, which will take two hours, max. However, i don’t wan’t to just fly in and fly out. So… this would be a great opportunity for any of my blog readers who live there to hang out with me, or book me for a family/couples/headshot/engagement/TrashTheDress photosession! I’ve always loved shooting in NYC, and would totally welcome the opportunity again.

If you are interested or know of anyone who would want to have a photoshoot with me, shoot me an email to kristina at photokisses dot com.  I’d also love to have brunch, lunch or dinner or snack or ice cream or coffee with fellow photographers. :D

Email me! Say hi!

Name Change

I just wanted to let everyone know that in the next few months, my last name will be changing back to my previous last name. This one is wayyyyy too long and wayyyyy uncomfortable. I am going back to my Lithuanian roots and changing back to the name I was given.

The only reason you need to know this is if you are planning to send me a check :)  So be ready. I will send out a mass email once the transformation is complete and I am no longer a Ramanayake. And no, the “new” old name isn’t any easier to spell! But at least it’s shorter!  Hahaha :D

Sincerely,

Kristina Juodyte, with a dot above the e.

I’m on Facebook

You can now stalk me on Facebook! I have created a PhotoKisses page there, and while I am not so sure yet what I’m supposed to do with it, I’m sure in time I will figure it out. So if you are on Facebook, check me out and become a fan!

I’m baaack!

I am back from Florida. It was so much fun. I had a great time with my best friend, and lots of fun at Universal Orlando.

You can tell I am a total photography nerd… I just HAD to have this picture!

Unfortunately, my photoshoot with the model fell through, but I did get a few great pictures of Elisabeth and her mom, who were the best hostesses ever.

I have to say, I LOVE my Canon 5D! And I also have to say, I LOVE my 24-70 2.8L glass! I can’t wait to use this amazing combo at this season’s weddings.

Leave a message after the beep

I am going to Florida for a few days to do a photoshoot with a new and upcoming model Roxanna, a photoshoot with my best friend and her mom, and while I’m there, we’ll probably go and see the shuttle launch for “Atlantis”, and also Universal Orlando. And Blue Man Group. Whew! It will be fun filled few days.

I won’t have internet access, so if you need to reach me, you will need to call me or wait for me to get back on Sunday. Toodles!
