Engaged: Jenny & Jack

That boy never took his eyes off her. You could reach out your arm into thin air and feel the love they shared. It was something out of a fairy tale.

This image ended up on their ceremony program for their wedding

Gotta love the light at the Sunken Gardens!

Cool ivy wall

Kisses!

Switch of scenery and clothing

The mansion at the Mt. Hope Cemetery… gotta love it.

This is Jenny’s favorite picture. And mine!

Since they are both performers, we also did some quick headshots.

This is going to be their wedding thank you card :)

Thanks for an awesome experience guys, I can’t wait to blog your wedding!

Engaged: Kate & Greg

Wow, it seems that I haven’t blogged in a while. I hope you haven’t forgotten me! I’ve been super busy with life :) I’ve been house hunting in order to find the perfect house which would accommodate my bridal consultation room, and I am happy to say I just found one! Yay! No more coffee shop meetings for me - my brides will be welcome in my home. I can’t wait to close on this house, get all moved in, and decorate the consultation room. It’s gonna ROCK!

In any case, on to my photographic adventures. Two weeks ago I photographed Greg and Kate’s engagement session in Fairport. They just moved to Corning NY but they came back for the shoot - just in time, too! Winter was JUST over, and flowers had finally started to bloom. We had the warmest day of the year (unlike Amber and Rob’s session) which helped create awesome pictures.

We started out in a cozy little coffee shop called Fairport Village Coffee & Wine Bar where I didn’t see any wine but the raspberry frapps were amazing.

Kate wore these amazing red shoes that I was completely jealous of! They cost her $4. What a steal!

After coffee and lunch, we started walking along the canal where we found some awesome picture opportunities.

We even walked over to where they used to live, and Greg showed me their driveway where one winter he wrote “will you marry me” in the snow - and the rest is history.

The yellow blossoms were like little bits of sunshine, which was very welcome after this long dreary winter.

The sign doesn’t say no kissing :)

We found a corvette in the parking lot. After making sure the owner didn’t mind (we yelled and no one claimed it LOL), we took a few quick pictures.

HAWT!!!

Coolest bridge ever.

And here’s me setting up for the shot above.

Greg and Kate, THANK YOU for waiting for spring, and for walking around the Fairport canal with me! It was so great to get to know you guys better. I can’t wait until October!!! We will rock the wedding!

Engaged: Amber and Rob

I finished editing! I’m so excited to show you Amber and Rob’s engagement pictures. They were so easy to work with, and so much fun!

First we were in a foresty area.

Kim got this shot of Rob… so sweet.

Awww just like teenagers…

Then we schlepped  through some mud to get to this area which thankfully was greener and drier.

I had to endure tree branches poking me in my rear to get this shot :) Totally worth it!

Another Kim shot… gotta love that long lens!

Then we found this really awesome tree (or trees), with a creek running under and through it.

Total awesomeness. I love that tree.

This next shot comes straight out of a movie. I did some post-processing magic, and voila!

The making of the shot :D

Did I mention it was cold and dreary and damp?

They are so sweet together.

At this point I’d like to mention that Kim has gotten super good with the long lens. How can you not love this picture?

Sitting on a stone fence. Loving each other.

Oooh la la! Sexy time!

We just had to do it.

Thank goodness for coffee shops and hot chocolate. We needed to thaw out after such a cold photoshoot.

Watching the world go by.

Shared moments.

Cuuute!

I leave you with this HOT HOT HOT image. You can almost see the sparks flying between those two! Geez, get a room guys! :P

It was truly an honor and pleasure to photograph Amber and Rob. They are my super couple (Engagement, Wedding, Trash The Dress) and I am so glad they chose me as their photographer. We will have so much fun at their wedding in October! Be on the look out for awesome images from that, as well as a super fun and super unique TTD session next winter. They already have exciting ideas!

Last Weekend

Last week was almost like real spring. Grass started getting greener, temperatures were rising… up until Saturday of course, and then it got cold and dreary again. Just in time for my engagement photoshoot with Amber and Rob. All day we were watching for rain clouds, and of course it started drizzling just as we set out for the photoshoot. It seemed like nothing was going right. Even the coffee shop where we were supposed to meet was closed down for renovation.

We really wanted to make it work. So Amber and Rob decided to chase the distant sunshine, and took me and Kim out to Parma, to a big park. Even though there is no greenery there yet, there was also no rain.

I’m still working on the pictures, but here are a few teasers.

Here’s one that Kim took of me rocking the new 5D! Am I truly this short in real life? I need some heels! :)

Here’s my perspective of that shot:

And here’s Kim, all bundled up in Amber’s blankie that we were going to use for them to sit on. Brrr it was cold!

I can’t wait to show the rest of these pictures! We found some awesome locations and we had tons of fun. Amber emailed me the next day and remarked how at ease they felt throughout the photoshoot, and how relaxed and fun we were. I hope it shows in the pictures! I should have them finished by the end of this week.

Engaged: Shari and Josh

Shari and Josh are a very relaxed, very casual couple. Josh popped the question in March, and even though they aren’t getting married until next year, Shari decided to hire me for a photoshoot last weekend. Spring is barely here, and Rochester can look dreary at times, but on Saturday the weather cooperated and we even got to see some sun.

We met in Highland Park where Shari and Josh like to walk their dogs.

After a few shots with the puppies, they were put in the car and it was time for some real stuff.

They are such a happy, giggly couple

We went to the Lamberton Conservatory, where flowers and exotic plants are green all year round.

Spanish moss is gorgeous.

Some of the pictures were shot with the idea in mind that we have to leave a bit of empty space around them so that we can make the image into a save-the-date magnet. This one worked very well:

How about this shot for the save-the-date? They thought it was hillarious.

After the photoshoot, we went to Pellegrino’s for lunch. It is their favorite lunch spot, and everyone in there knows exactly what Shari and Josh order every time.

Shari’s ring is gorgeous. Josh did a good job picking it out! Notice the sapphires around the main stone.

I have a few more Engagements left before my wedding season starts. So really, since last Saturday, I am now booked for the remainder of the year. No more Saturdays at home for me! Instead, I get to celebrate LOVE and HAPPINESS with people every single weekend.  How did I get so lucky?!

Amanda + Ken = Sweetness

I was very excited to meet Amanda and Ken - they are my super couple of 2008! They have booked me for the full package: Engagement, Wedding, and Trash The Dress. So, we met in Ken’s neighborhood for a couples shoot. Ken’s family owns an apple orchard, which is where the wedding reception will be.

The happy couple

This being an orchard, we found a nice apple tree to shoot under. Don’t you just love the sun coming through?

There was this super awesome red barn in their yard, which I had to take advantage of! Anyone who knows me knows I love red :)

Amanda and Ken went along with whatever I asked of them, even when it meant they had to sit on the ground in their nice clothes. They were so great!

We also visited the church where the wedding ceremony will take place October 11, 2008. I am looking forward to shooting there.

Maybe we’ll get to repeat this shot on their wedding day?

When we were planning the engagement session through email, our original goal was to shoot sunset pictures. The sun was at a perfect height by the time we were ready to go back to the orchard to shoot the pictures we had planned for.

Finally… the orchard.

This is one of my favorites from the shoot, and hopefully another one we can reproduce on their wedding day!

I just love all the autumn colors

I hope to get some other couples interested in an engagement photoshoot. Amanda, Ken, and I had a lot of fun, everything went according to plan, the weather and the sun cooperated, and we got some awesome shots that they will be able to show off at their wedding. I’m a bit sad that almost half of my couples for 2008 are out-of-towners!

P.S. Amanda, Ken, if you’re reading this, I’m so sorry about the Monster energy drink. I promise to drink less than the whole can on your wedding day! :D I am not usually that hyper, I swear! :P

Bookings

Hello, brides!

Just a quick note on my availability - not much of it remains! If you are thinking of booking me for your wedding, please don’t wait, contact me right away. I’m getting very full, especially later in the season. I have almost every Saturday booked in September-October. The only Saturday left open is 9/27!

While I’m at it, what’s up with July 12th, 2008? How is this date so significant, that I have received SEVEN inquiries about it?! Ladies, this was the first wedding for 2008 I got booked for - so if yours is 07/12/08, sorry to disappoint, I’ve been unavailable for it since this July. :D

In other news, I am just about done with Amanda and Ken’s engagement pictures. They came out fantastic. I am so excited to be doing the full package for these two (Engagement, Wedding, Trash The Dress) - they are so in love and it shows in every single image. Here’s a teaser before the rest of them go up…

I will post what’s left of my 2008 availability within the next couple of days. In the mean time, email me! Let’s meet for coffee. :)
