Jen was the first bride last year to book me for the 2008 season. I had just started advertising with the Rochester Wedding magazine three days prior, and she found me through my online ad there. I had been ecstatic to shoot her wedding ever since. And it finally happened!

Jen and the girls got ready at Woodcliff. She had the two-story suite with huge windows, which was perfect for natural light pictures.

Pretty in pink

Bill’s flowers

At the church

After the ceremony, the bridal party stopped at their friends’ house which is actually more of a plant farm. It was absolutely gorgeous in there with the flowers and the trellis and the beautiful foot bridge over a creek.

We also went to the Monroe County Clerk’s Office for some more bridal party shots. I always enjoy the challenge of shooting in that golden marble building. We also took some photos across the street while waiting for our time slot to be available.

Finally we arrived back at Woodcliff for the reception. I kept a lookout for sunset so we could get some nice photos of the Rochester skyline, but the clouds weren’t cooperating. We snuck out before dinner anyway, and got some sweet portraits of just the happy newlyweds.

Thank you Jen and Bill for letting me participate in your celebration, and thanks for booking me when my online ad was nothing but a few words and no pictures! You were a delight to work with, and I can’t wait until we trash your dress next spring!

I was going to do a video blog about this, but for some reason my camera doesn’t want to work. Oh well. I’ll do it the old fashioned way and show you photographs instead. By the way, have you noticed that I am now able to show huge-a-licious pictures in my blog? Oh yeah! I’m loving my new blog theme!

Ooh, what is this?

It’s a hard book bound Asuka album

Beautiful soft pages with acurate colors, just how I ordered it.

7 inches and 30 pages of goodness.

Strong, thick spine

Nicely done corners.

The album came in a nice frosty sleeve, which I think will be great if you want to carry it around or just store it safely. I’d say the parent albums (5×5) would be easier to carry, but, whatever floats your boat! Either way the sleeve is a nice thing to have. I can’t wait until someone orders a 10×10 album with proper design This was just a simple 7×7 (5×7 pictures) album for a client who was going to buy lose prints and put them in a regular album. I’m so glad she went with this super fabulous album instead! It will be a much better conversation piece about her son’s wedding.

Getting ready with the help of the wonderful bridesmaids

Heather and Trent had a very emotional first look

Cute bridesmaids!

Trent’s spiffy attire

Canoodling and cool tattoos

Ceremony at Inn on the Lake

I loved that they had an eco-friendly wedding and reception. Their centerpieces were herbs.

Emily is the event coordinator at Shadow Lake Golf Club, which means she has access to the best event and wedding vendors out there. I was honored when she picked me to photograph her and Ryan’s July 4th wedding. How could I say no? Especially because the wedding promised to be a spectacular affair, complete with ice cream stations. Ok ok, I didn’t know the last part when Emily booked me, but I’m all up for ice cream at a wedding!

Emily, her mom, and bridesmaids got ready at the beautiful suites at Woodcliff Hotel and Spa in Victor NY.

Her amazing shoes:

What a beautiful church to have a wedding ceremony in! (St. Mary’s in Canandaigua)

The next picture was my biggest group picture to date. Emily and Ryan invited ALL the guests to pose on the church steps for a few minutes, and everyone listened to my directions so well! I could see everyone’s faces in the crowd, which is awesome in itself, considering the amount of people and the lack of time. Later I made this shot into the cover of Thank You cards that got sent out to every guest in attendance. What a thoughtful way to thank your wedding guests!

The reception took place in Casa Larga Vinyards, where Emily used to work before Shadow Lake.

Even though we didn’t get to see fireworks (they were too far away), we all had a blast anyway! Thanks Emily and Ryan for inviting me to your fabulous wedding, and I am so glad to be friends!

Check out the SHOWCASE (open to the public) and the GALLERY (open to family and friends).

I am so blessed that in the last 4 months over 20 couples have gotten married and chosen me as their photographer. Which, while being absolutely awesome, also means that I am spending more and more time at my computer, editing! And with my excellent procrastination skillzzz… well, you know.

Speaking of procrastination, I am totally addicted to Facebook (find me or become a fan), Twitter (follow me), and AIM (chat with me - PhotoKisses). I’m always online!

I photographed Natalie and Jon’s wedding at the Geneva Ramada Lakefront. They had a very sweet ceremony under a big white tent, and their reception was inside.

After the ceremony we were shooting formals, when the hotel manager quietly whispered in my ear that there was a storm brewing and that it would probably get there in about 30 minutes. So I had to scrap my regular routine and get started on just-them pictures before finishing formals.

You can see the storm in the background.

We had just enough time to do some quick bridal party shots and then it started raining cats and dogs! We had to quickly dash inside and watch the storm drown the lawn outside.

It was so perfectly timed! The ceremony was fine, the family formals went great, we got some awesome just-them shots, and then while it stormed outside, the bridal party got introduced, toasts offered, and dinner started. By the time dinner ended, so had the storm. Natalie was willing to go outside for just a few more photographs.

All in all this was a great day. I will be forever grateful to Ramada Lakefront’s manager for alerting me about that storm! And thanks Natalie and Jon for trusting me to keep you outside up until the first drops started falling!

In the past year, PhotoKisses has grown beyond my wildest dreams! My photography skills have been greatly enhanced due to the amount of weddings I have been fortunate to shoot, my equipment is better than ever, and my style has evolved into something that my couples and I love very much.

Therefore, I feel that it is time to change the structure of my business. I will no longer offer a flat rate for my services - I can’t be limiting myself and my clients anymore. I am able to and WANT to offer more, more MORE! Engagement sessions, save the date magnets, guest books, more coverage, more travel, more fashion and fun, albums, prints, and then some

If you are a potential bride reading this, please note that I will be introducing my new pricing and packages on September 1st. So if you want to get the current rate, you have one week to contact me and set up a meeting. Oh, and while you’re at it, check out the new Rochester Wedding Magazine with a picture I took on the cover!
