The Getting Ready
The minute I walked into A’s suite at Gaylord Palms, I knew I was going to LOVE photographing this wedding. The girls were bubbly and excited; and she had bought an orchid JUST FOR ME to take pictures with! What a sweet thought, and great prep! Since the Tiffany boxes nor the orchid were going to travel to Falcon’s Fire Golf Club, I was grateful to have some extra time in the beginning of the day to capture a bunch of details while the girls were all getting pampered by their awesome makeup team.
I could have photographed just the rings alone for hours. But then the Jimmy Choos came out, and I could not resist combining the two perfects together. Later in the day the Choos gave way to blue Toms (which you’ll see in the last picture) but for now, A’s feet were decked out and sparkling!
Pretty great view from the 8th floor suite at Gaylord Palms! And plenty of space for the champagne cork to fly freeeee!
The bride looking all primped and glamourized and gorgeous! And how cute is that nose boop with the flower girl?!
We photographed some portraits out in the castle-like atrium while we waited for the groomsmen to make it downstairs.
The First Look
Then it was time for the FIRST LOOK! It was totally adorable, with the flower girl telling A, “J is here, J is here! He’s right behind you!”
We had a few minutes to kill before the limo picked everyone up to go to Falcon’s Fire in Kissimmee, so we used the time wisely for some relaxed portraits. A really wanted this specific image of her and J under the awnings with the medieval chandeliers and all that gray brick to surround them. This was one of their favorite portraits of the day.
Even though it threatened to rain all day at Falcon’s Fire, it was decided that the wedding ceremony would be held outside by the gazebo, and all fingers and toes crossed for the rain to hold off until later.
After the ceremony the newlyweds decided they wanted to enjoy as much cocktail hour as they could – so I fired off some quick family and bridal party formals, spent a few minutes with the newlyweds alone as we walked back to the reception at Falcon’s Fire, and then proceeded to photograph the little details in the reception room while the guests were still outside for cocktail hour. I guess I’m just quick like that… (good thing I was wearing my quick fox earrings that day, haha!)
The Falcon’s Fire Wedding Reception
This was my first time at Falcon’s Fire, and the wedding reception was off the hook! Different shades of blue dominated the hall, there was even a signature cocktail, and the bride and groom danced the night away wearing blue Toms. At the end of the night I stuffed myself at the ice cream bar, and got a ride in the limo back to Gaylord Palms and to my car, where I sat for a few minutes and reflected back on the awesomeness of the day that was A+J’s wedding.
Thank you so much for having me at your blue wedding, J+A! I loved everything about it!
