I have to admit, Shadow Lake is a pretty awesome location to have a wedding. Especially when it’s two amazing people getting married! I’ve known Dana for a few years now. She is an absolute sweetheart and gorgeous to boot, and I’m so glad she asked me to be her wedding photographer. I was also very glad to finally meet her adorable son and handsome hubby-to-be Gary.
The day started at Dana’s house. As is my usual routine, I got there early to take pictures of the bride’s dress and shoes.

Dana was one of the more easy going brides, she got dressed in under 5 seconds and was ready for pictures outdoors.
Dana’s mom couldn’t stop looking at her gorgeous daughter

After a mini bridal session, we drove over to the Immanuel Baptist church on park ave and photographed the ceremony in a purely photojournalistic fashion. My favorite moment was when Dana and Gary shared their first kiss and their son Caiden started clapping as hard as his little hands would allow.

We did a few family formals inside the church, and then proceeded to Shadow Lake for some fun bridal party and newlywed portraits.

Uh oh! Someone’s smooching in broad daylight!

Gorgeous Dana

Cool groomsmen

We got a sweet family portrait

Then it was time for my favorite part of the day – walking around Shadow Lake grounds with the newlyweds by themselves.

I’ve shot many Shadow Lake weddings, and this one has become the bride favorite. I now photograph the couple with the fountain in the background and their reflection in the pond every single time.

During reception, Gary’s brother brought out a huge enlargement of Gary’s school picture. It was one of the funniest speaches ever.

The wedding cake from Savoia’s Pastry Shoppe was heart shaped and quite precious

And then there was dancing!

Yum! An ice cream bar at the reception – what could be better?!

Thank you Gary and Dana for having me photograph your wedding – it was truly a magical, fun filled day, and I can’t imagine spending that Saturday any differently! I couldn’t help but smile while editing your pictures, and smiled again while I was selecting them for this blog – you both radiated happiness and contentment throughout your wedding day. I wish much love and happiness to your beautiful family for years to come!
And of course no post would be complete without yet another fun and wacky ring shot by yours truly. I was setting up the rings in the camsis bush when a fat little bumblebee decided to go foraging for food in my spot!

With Love,
Kristina
