The last weddings of 2007

I have so much fun when I work as a second shooter for other professional photographers. This year I was honored to work with Rachel Gracie, Mary Corcoran, and Picture Infinity. All in all together with my own bookings, I shot and/or second-shot 20 weddings. What a fun ride! I am planning to make another post with my favorite images of 2007, but until then, I’d like to share the last five weddings of 07.

Wedding #16 happened in a big white tent in the bride’s parents’ back yard. The reception was in Shadow Lake, which was great as far as wheelchair accessibility. There were lots of guests in wheelchairs, and the staff handled it very well, pulling chairs away from the tables and making plenty of space for everyone. My favorite part was watching the guests dance. What a great experience.

Wedding #17 was a daytime wedding at the Casa Larga vineyards.  I have to say, it was a different feeling to be done by 4pm.  I really enjoyed natural light pictures, and my favorite part of the day was when we went out for a walk among the grapes.

Wedding #18 was in Bristol Harbour. Oh, my, gosh. What a place! Everything was perfect and gorgeous and unforgettable. Top of the line service, details, food, culturally diverse ceremony, and a great party that lasted well into the night, finishing off with a huge bonfire.

Wedding #19 was very sweet and cute. The bride and groom are so in love, the air crackles around them. We were shooting their formals and they started kissing, and completely forgot we were there! *ahem* teehee!

Last wedding of 07, #20, had a Christmas theme. It was on December 22nd. I had a chance to be a “real” assistant when we forgot a photo umbrella at the church and only remembered that fact at the reception site. I drove back to the church to get it, but it was gone. When I came back to the reception 40 minutes later, the bride’s dad had brought the umbrella with him. Phew! The most memorable moment of the evening was when one of the groomsmen overgesticulated with his beer bottle and it slipped, dropping like a bomb to the floor and exploding all over. I got some awesome pictures of it in action! (sorry, it’s not portfolio material, so I won’t be showing it online:D)

Natalie - Beautiful, stunning, breathtaking as always! I love the moments that you capture that show such emotion – and I don’t even know these people! But I can “feel” them. :)
